Manchester United have been handed what can be seen as a generous tie in the fifth round of this season’s Emirates FA Cup.
Louis van Gaal’s men will travel to Shrewsbury Town next month – to face the side who displaced Sheffield Wednesday in the last round.
United, of course, won 3-1 away to Championship side Derby County, so will look fondly upon this upcoming fixture against League One opposition, having seen off a team firmly in the hunt for promotion to the Premier League.
However, they will be wary of their 4-0 defeat away to MK Dons in Louis van Gaal’s first season in charge of the club as they approach this tie – the Red Devils won’t want to get complacent.
Their main threat will be French striker Jean Louis Akpa-Akpro; he has 11 goals since moving to Shrewsbury in 2014.
The team from New Meadow will themselves have to be cautious of a French forward as well though, with Anthony Martial rarely failing to impress in a United shirt.
The tie is to be played between the 19th and 22nd of February.
