Lazio forward Felipe Anderson will join Manchester United this summer according to the Italian side’s president, says calciomercato.com.

The Brazilian has been heavily linked with United in the past two transfer windows, with some reports in January even suggesting the player was set to join the club last month.

The Lazio president, Claudio Lotito, is alleged to have said of Anderson’s transfer:

Felipe Anderson will move to Manchester United next season, for €60 million.

Lotito also spoke about the level of profit that will be made on the transfer:

I bought Felipe Anderson for €8 million, and I’ve already sold him on for €60 million.

However, despite calciomercato.com proclaiming that their report has been reported exactly as Lotito’s words were heard, Lazio has since released a statement saying that these reports are ‘devoid of any foundation’.

It would be odd for United to be negotiating transfers for players without the approval of the club’s manager, perhaps suggesting that the Reds’ managerial situation for next season has already been internally resolved.

Whether the reports of a transfer being agreed are true or not, it would appear that the club has a genuine interest in the player, given the speculation which has persistently linked United with Felipe Anderson since last summer.
