Manchester United’s youngsters have been confirmed as one of eight teams who will take part in the Otten Cup later this year.
The Otten Cup is a friendly tournament for under-19 teams, arranged and hosted by Dutch club PSV Eindhoven. Named after former Phillips president Frans Otten when it was founded in 1947, the trophy has been won twenty times by PSV, whose youth academy is considered one of the very best in the world.
United’s forthcoming participation was confirmed by PSV on Twitter – the junior Red Devils will join Chivas Guadalajara, Red Bull Brasil, Paris Saint-Germain, FC Barcelona, RSC Anderlecht and Borussia Monchengladbach, as well as PSV themselves, in the tournament.

The games will take place over three days on the 5th, 6th and 7th of August at De Herdgang training facilities.
A win at the tournament for United would constitute their first ever. Their fellow competitors have triumphed a combined 24 times since the formation of the cup.
Players who have progressed through various youth ranks and played in the Otten Cup include Wesley Sneijder, Klaas Jan Huntelaar, Georginio Wijnaldum and Manchester United’s very own Memphis Depay.
