Sunderland could make a double move for Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj, according to the Daily Mirror.

New Black Cats boss David Moyes would like to make permanent moves for the two Belgians but may be priced out of that option, with the Reds likely to demand somewhere in the region of £45 million for the pair.

If Moyes does indeed press ahead with a move for the two, it would mean a reunion of sorts for all parties – Fellaini, of course, was the Scotsman’s marquee signing in his first transfer window as United manager, joining the Reds in a £27.5 million move from Everton, where he had previously managed the 28-year-old.

The Belgian international looks like he could have a place in José Mourinho’s plans at United, despite being a lightning rod of criticism since joining the Reds, scoring against Galatasaray as the Reds trounced the Turkish side 5-2 in Sweden yesterday.

Januzaj, on the other hand, made his breakthrough during Moyes’ ill-fated 10-month spell in Manchester, becoming one of the shining lights of a disastrous season. Ironically, an outstanding performance against Sunderland that season would launch his career.

However, the 21-year-old has failed to kick on at Old Trafford and looks set to depart the club for another loan spell this season with numerous players ahead of him in the pecking order, although the Daily Mail reports that Januzaj wants a clean break and rebuild his career away from Manchester.

UPDATE (August 1): David Moyes has confirmed his interest in both Januzaj and Fellaini in his first press conference as Sunderland manager:
