Manchester United are willing to sell Bastian Schweinsteiger for as little as £2 million, as they look to cut their losses on the World Cup winner.

This comes according to German publication Bild, who claim that the Red Devils are willing to accept such a small figure for the midfielder just so that he can be off the wage books. Schweinsteiger earns a staggering £190,000 per week – and all that money is giving United nothing as Jose Mourinho has no plans for ex-Bayern Munich man.

With Paul Pogba having come in from Juventus, Ander Herrera having settled well into a deeper midfield role and Marouane Fellaini having excelled under Mourinho so far, as well as the competition for that spot in the shape of Morgan Schneiderlin, there is simply no way back into the side for Schweinsteiger.

Bild claim in the same article that Juventus could be a destination for the ‘Deutsche Fussballmeister’, as they bid to strengthen in the middle of the park following Pogba’s switch to Old Trafford.

The Old Lady are said to be chasing Paris Saint-Germain’s Blaise Matuidi, but could turn their attention to Schweinsteiger if the move for the French international doesn’t work out.

Schweinsteiger has made 31 appearances for the Red Devils since being brought to the club by Louis van Gaal in the summer of 2015.
