Juventus to rival Inter Milan for Matteo Darmian
According to Calciomercato, Juventus are in the market for a new right-back and have identified Matteo Darmian as a possible target.
After Juventus’ public falling out with Stephan Lichtsteiner in the summer which sees him currently suspended by the club until the new year without making an appearance so far this term, the reigning Serie A champions are eager to sign a new right-back to replace him.
Darmian, along with AC Milan’s Mattia De Sciglio are two names mentioned as possible targets in January.
The Italian fullback has been in and out of the Manchester United team this season but it’s believed that Jose Mourinho would accept letting him go in January if the right offer came in.
United’s asking price for Darmian is believed to be in the region of €20-22m, according to Calciomercato, which has put off Inter Milan from making a move for the former Torino standout.
Contact between Inter and United began in the summer but a deal could not be reached. However, talks are ongoing still ahead of a possible January move which could be scuppered if Juventus make their interest known.
