David de Gea - 7
It was a quiet day for the Spaniard, who had very little to do with the hosts playing with ten men for the majority of the game.
However, De Gea kept his concentration throughout and made a key save against Michail Antonio in the second-half with the score still 0-0.
Antonio Valencia - 6
A solid defensive showing from Valencia but not quite at his best in an attacking sense, with most of United’s attacking play coming down the left flank.
Denied by a superb reaction save from Darren Randolph in the first-half.
Phil Jones - 7
Jones was on the receiving end of Feghouli’s strong challenge in the opening stages of the match but continued to put in a fine performance at the back.
Marcos Rojo - 7
The Argentine partnered Jones at centre-back in the first-half before switching to the left side of defence after the break.
Rojo adapted well to the positional change and gave United more balance on the flank.
Matteo Darmian - 5
Not the best of displays from the Italian.
Didn’t do much wrong defensively but, as a right-footer playing on the left, Darmian slowed down much of United’s attacking play in the wide areas before he was brought off at half-time.
Michael Carrick - 7
This wasn’t Carrick’s most influential display, but the 35-year-old showed great composure in midfield yet again.
He also deputised well at centre-back in the second-half.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan - 6
Much like the United side in general, Mkhitaryan wasn’t quite as good as he has been in recent weeks.
But the former Borussia Dortmund playmaker did look like one of more creative forces in the first-half, although the Red Devils created very few chances in that period. Brought off after the first goal.
Ander Herrera - 6
Another United player who didn’t play as well as they have done in the last few games.
Despite that, Herrera was energetic enough in midfield and might have scored with a volley from Marcus Rashford’s cross late on.
Paul Pogba - 7
Pogba was another who was perhaps slightly under par judging by recent form, but the Frenchman still stood out as one of United’s better performers.
His passing, dribbling and strength in midfield was excellent once again, and only a little more influence on the game was lacking.
Might have scored with a few shots from outside the box in the second-half.
Jesse Lingard - 5
It was easy to see why Lingard was in the team and the Englishman closed down the West Ham defenders very well when required.
However, as it became apparant that United would be forced to break down the Hammers’ resolute defence after the sending off, Lingard struggled to make a difference in the final third.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic - 6
Not one of the Swede’s better displays, with Ibrahimovic forced to come deep to affect the play for large parts of the game.
Typically of the man, however, the striker scored with a fantastic, instictive finish late in the game although he was marginally offside.
Juan Mata - 8
The Spaniard replaced Darmian at half-time and United looked much better for having Mata in the side.
The Red Devils’ number eight finished well from Rashford’s cross to give the visitors the lead just after the hour.
Marcus Rashford - 8
Going against the grain of the general team performance against the Hammers, Rashford was fantastic in this game after a difficult run of individual form for the 19-year-old.
The youngster was a constant menace on the left-flank and played a part in both goals after he replaced Jesse Lingard early in the second-half.
Chris Smalling - 6
Smalling came off the bench almost immediately after United took the lead and helped the team stay in front for around 15 minutes before the second goal took the pressure of him and the other defenders.
