Manchester United keeping tabs on Kevin Malcuit
Manchester United want to add a right-back to the squad at the end of the season and are targeting a player they are familiar with.
TalkSPORT are reporting that Manchester United are ready to make a summer move for impressive Saint-Etienne defender Kevin Malcuit who has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham.
It’s claimed that the Hammers had two bids rejected for Malcuit during the January transfer window after identifying right-back as an area they must improve on, worth a reported €8m and €10m respectively, but the Ligue 1 club rejected both offers.
United took on Saint-Etienne in the Europa League last 32 earlier this month and Malcuit was an impressive performer for the French side, especially in the second leg, and United are keeping tabs on his progress between now and the end of the season.
With Matteo Darmian expected to leave the club an return to Serie A in the summer, Malcuit could be a like-for-like replacement for the Italian and offer some genuine competition to Antonio Valencia.
