Mkhitaryan close to comeback after hamstring injury
Manchester United playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan could return for his side’s clash against Bournemouth this weekend.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the Armenian international has been stepping up his recovery from injury after suffering a knock to his hamstring in last week’s Europa League clash away at Saint-Etienne.
Mkhitaryan missed United’s EFL Cup final clash against Southampton, with Jesse Lingard taking his place in the starting line-up and scoring the second in the 3-2 win.
However, it looks as though he could be in with a chance of returning to the fold when The Red Devils welcome Bournemouth to Old Trafford this weekend.
Mkhitaryan has been exceptional for United in recent times and his return is sure to be a big boost to Jose Mourinho, who will look to ensure that his men carry on their push for a top four finish this season.
Since his arrival, Mkhitaryan has scored nine times.
