Jose Mourinho’s first season with Manchester United can only be seen as a success so far, with the EFL Cup victory and the impressive unbeaten streak as of late taken into consideration.
United are in the Europa League quarter-finals as well and will be hoping to lift even more silverware this season but being the perfectionist he is, Mourinho isn’t likely to be satisfied with his men.
This coming summer is likely to be a busy one for Mourinho and United, with the Portuguese boss looking set to bring in a plethora of reinforcements in order to bolster his men ahead of a more challenging season next term.
So, how will United line up next season? We’ve had a look at how they could be setting out if they sign their preferred targets.
David De Gea
United are unlikely to have a chance at signing anyone better than De Gea, and they have to keep hold of him.
Nelson Semedo
Semedo is looking likely to join United from Benfica in the summer and he’ll replace Antonio Valencia at right-back.
Victor Lindelof
Lindelof is another Benfica player that looks to be United-bound.
Eric Bailly
Bailly is something of an undisputed starter in United’s side.
Jordi Alba
The Spanish international is reportedly keen on a move to Old Trafford this summer and could very well force his way over to Manchester.
Paul Pogba
Pogba will undoubtedly start in the middle.
Ander Herrera
Herrera has had a good season and it’d be a surprise to see United replace him.
Juan Mata
Mata is still a part of Mourinho’s plans and it doesn’t look as though Antoine Griezmann is on his way to United, so he’s set to keep his place.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan
The Armenian has been superb for United and is likely to remain in the hole.
Ivan Perisic
United are clearly interested in the Croatia international and he could come in on the left.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Ibra is set to extend his United stay and there’s no way he’ll be getting dropped.
