According to a report from the Independent, United manager Jose Mourinho may turn to Chelsea winger Willian as a proposed move for Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic stalls.

Chelsea and United have reportedly been battling it out for the Croatian winger with a fee of around £50 million being touted.

The report claims that the United manager could even be willing to part ways with young winger Anthony Martial, who’s only been at the club for two seasons; Martial was a substitute for a large amount of the 2016/17 season and may not be part of the Portuguese manager’s plans.

Willian played under Mourinho for two seasons between 2014 and 2016, winning the Premier League during that time. With Chelsea in pole position to sign Perisic, the 28-year-old will find himself surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and the transfer would make sense for both parties.

A record transfer window surely awaits the Premier League this summer, but could this be one of the shock moves?
