Jose Mourinho is weighing up a £30 million offer to land Portuguese full back Nelson Semedo from Benfica, according to reports in Portugal.
Portuguese paper O Jogo suggest that Mourinho is determined to shake up his defensive options this summer, having already added to his back line with the arrival of Victor Lindelof, also from Benfica.
Semedo, 23, has made 64 appearances for Benfica since 2015 and is being heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
The Benfica full back has also attracted interest from many top European clubs including Barcelona, however, talks have broken down between the two clubs, which could allow United to sneak in.
Reports suggest Mourinho will be looking to offload defenders before making anymore defensive signings with Chris Smalling and Matteo Darmian both rumoured to be allowed to leave Old Trafford this summer, with Everton and West Brom keen on taking Smalling away from Manchester.
