United’s Kane pursuit laughed off
Manchester United were linked with a record-breaking deal to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur last night.
It was claimed that the Red Devils were planning a £100m swoop to sign the England international from Spurs, however according to the Independent, those in North London have laughed off those claims.
It’s stated that Ed Woodward’s alleged move to sign Kane is seriously insufficient, with Daniel Levy valuing the England striker at double the quoted £100m.
United are keen to sign a new forward this summer off the back of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s release, but it’s looking increasingly likely that their pursuit of Kane is overly fanciful.
The Spurs forward finished as the Premier League’s top goal scorer last season and is undoubtedly a crucial player for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, so it would be simply stunning if he were to leave this summer.
United will now need to turn their attentions elsewhere, with Kane set to stay put.
