According to James Ducker of the Telegraph, the Old Trafford side have reached an agreement with Everton over the transfer of Belgian international Romelu Lukaku

All eyes, from the point of view of Manchester United fans, were on Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata as the club’s next big signing – but Ed Woodward had other ideas.

It would appear that whilst Real Madrid played hardball in negotiations over the transfer of Spain international Morata, United were plotting their move for 24-year-old Lukaku behind the scenes.

With United’s ‘pursuit’ of Morata being very public in terms of press coverage, Chelsea, who are also interested in Lukaku, seem to have taken things fairly slowly in negotiating with Everton – and United have now overtaken them in a move which appears to have beaten the London club to one of the Premier League’s best strikers.

We want to gauge opinion on the shift from Morata to Lukaku in United’s plans – if shift is the correct term at all – simply choose which of the two you think will be or could be the better choice for the club, in the poll below.
