According to the Daily Mail, Roma’s president has insisted that Manchester United target Radja Nainggolan is not for sale.
A lot of clubs including United are interested in the 29-year-old but his club president James Pallota has said that the Belgian midfielder is not for sale this summer.
United are linked with Nainggolan after Chelsea look very close to signing Tiemoue Bakayoko, who was linked with a move to Old Trafford so Nainggolan could’ve been the answer if Roma were willing to sell.
Pallota had this to say “Nainggolan and Manolas will stay with us, they are not moving from Roma.
“I think we have the best midfield in Italy. In defence, we will improve and we can do that by buying some new players.”
Roma have already let go of Leandro Paredes, Antonio Rudiger and Mohamed Salah this summer to stay on track with FIFA’s financial fair play rules.
This means that losing Nainggolan would make Roma very weak for next season and with AC Milan bolstering their squad and Juventus not slowing down, Roma could find it hard to challenge for the Serie A title.
This news coming out of Italy means that United need to go for another defensive midfielder and Nemanja Matic has been linked all summer which is a possible prospect.
