Manchester United sign Theo Richardson
Manchester United have completed the signing of Leeds goalkeeper Theo Richardson after a successful trial at the club.
Richardson, an 18-year-old goalkeeper, joined United on a trial from Leeds and he played in the mini-Manchester Derby in March at The Etihad which ended 2-2.
Richardson was named on the bench for United’s second to last Under-23 game against Arsenal.
He played in the Dallas Cup and will feature in United’s return to the Super Cup NI tournament in Northern Ireland which is formerly the Milk Cup.
The player will join up with the club’s youth sides and continue his development in the academy system at Old Trafford.
United have confirmed the player’s arrival on their official website:
Signed on a permanent contract after arriving on a short-term basis towards the end of the 2016/17 season.
One of four keepers with the reserves squad at the training camp in Austria – with Kieran O’Hara, Max Johnstone and Ilias Moutha-Sebtaoui – and likely to push for a place in the under-23s and UEFA Youth League squad.
