United consider swapping Luke Shaw for Danny Rose
Manchester United are considering the option of swapping out of favour left-back Luke Shaw for Tottenham Hotspur full-back Danny Rose as the Red Devils look to strengthen their full-back position before the transfer window shuts, according to a report from the Metro.
United have always admired Rose and have tried to sign him previously but it seems that this transfer window is the best opportunity to secure his signature.
The 27-year-old has grown frustrated at Tottenham Hotspur due to a lack of silverware won by the club and wants to win some trophies quickly.
The 27-year-old is also slightly disappointed that the north London club haven’t strengthened so far this summer and also feels that he is deserving of a higher wage.
According to the Daily Record, this has led United boss Jose Mourinho to prioritise Rose as his main target before the transfer window closes and is reportedly ready to swap Shaw.
The Portuguese publicly criticised Shaw last season for not showing enough ambition and desire to play and has never really thought highly of the left-back.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino may be open to the deal as he has worked previously with Shaw at Southampton and played a major role in launching the youngster’s career.
