Jose Mourinho spent big in the summer as he continues to mould the Manchester United squad in his image and it’s made some players surplus to requirements.

Luke Shaw faces an uncertain future at the club like many of the fringe players still at Old Trafford.

The left-back, who became the most expensive teenager of all time when he joined United from Southampton for £30m in 2014, has struggled for form and fitness during his time at the club and has fallen down the pecking order at the club.

Ashley Young, Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian all seem to be ahead of Luke Shaw at the moment and the Mirror report that United have not opened talks with the England international over extending his deal which is due to expire at the end of the season.

The Daily Star note that Manchester United could look to offload Shaw in January with a swap deal for Tottenham’s Danny Rose touted.
