Mkhitaryan disappointed that ‘top player’ Pogba is ruled out
Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has admitted that he is disappointed that Paul Pogba is ruled out.
The French international hobbled off with a hamstring injury after United’s comprehensive win over FC Basel in the Champions League last Tuesday, and is expected to be out for a relatively long time.
This comes as a big blow to United, as Pogba has started the season in hugely impressive fashion. Mkhitaryan, too, has been exceptional since the campaign begun, and has scored once while also assisting his teammates five times in the Premier League so far.
As quoted by the Manchester Evening News, the Armenian playmaker expressed his disappointment that Pogba is currently on the sidelines.
It’s hard, because he’s a top player for us. It’s going to be very difficult, but the coach knows how to make up for that and we’re going to help him come back stronger.
The full extent of Pogba’s injury remains to be seen, but Jose Mourinho has denied claims that he will be out until December, with the Red Devils boss still in the dark about the severity of the hamstring issue.
