Manchester United have been drawn against Swansea City in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

United, who won the competition last year after a dramatic final against Southampton at Wembley, beat Burton Albion in Wednesday night’s third round game.

The Red Devils beat their Championship opponents 4-1 at Old Trafford, with goals from Marcus Rashford (2), Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial before a late Brewers consolation; and Jose Mourinho’s side have been rewarded for their efforts with a potentially tricky away tie to Swansea.

The Swans also beat a Championship side to progress to the fourth round, overcoming Jaap Stam’s reading at the Madjeski Stadium on Tuesday night.

The side from Wales fielded one of their strongest possible starting elevens, including Alfie Mawson, on-loan Renato Sanches and the returning Wilfried Bony — their goalscorers on the night were centre-back Mawson and second half substitute Jordan Ayew.

United’s fourth round tie at the Liberty Stadium is to be played in the week commencing October 23rd.
