Manchester United and Liverpool are noted old foes, with a rich and historic rivalry long predating Jose Mourinho’s arrival as manager at Old Trafford.

However, the United boss carries his own personal rivalry of sorts going into the game — a match up against Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Saturday’s fixture at Anfield will be the eight game played between sides managed by Jose Mourinho and Jurgen Klopp respectively — and all of said games have come between European heavyweights, there has been no small fixture played out under the watch of the two managers.

Of the seven games played between sides managed by Mourinho and Klopp so far, the German has the far better record, with Mourinho only having won one, which was a Champions League final second leg game between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund — so Mourinho will certainly be looking to improve his record against Klopp on Saturday.
