Manchester United have confirmed that Scott McTominay has signed a new deal until 2021 with the club.

The young midfielder pens a four-year contract extension at the club, and has the opportunity to extend for a further year should all parties agree.

McTominay has burst onto the scene for United in recent times, and made his Champions League debut for the club on Wednesday evening as the Red Devils defeated Benfica through a Marcus Rashford free-kick.

The 20-year-old made his senior debut for the club at the back-end of last season and has impressed since, offering manager Jose Mourinho an energetic backup option in the middle.

McTominay, born in Lancaster, has made just two appearances this season, but will be hoping to force his way into the United squad more as the season continues to rumble on.
