United set to prioritise Soler signing in January
Manchester United appear to be ready to step up their pursuit of Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler.
Last month, reports emerged claiming that Jose Mourinho is a huge admirer of the Spaniard’s talents, and was pondering a move for him in the mid-season transfer window.
Now, according to the Independent, Soler has moved up to the top of Mourinho’s shortlist ahead of January, with the United boss keen to secure the Valencia man’s services.
Soler has been in good form for a resurgent Valencia side this season. He has played a part in their rejuvenation under Marcelino and is catching the eye of several clubs across the continent.
United look set to lose a midfielder in January, with Marouane Fellaini claimed to be closing in on an £8 million move to Turkish side Besiktas.
It looks as though Mourinho and his recruitment team have decided that Soler is the best possible alternative to Fellaini, if the Independent are to be believed.
