Manchester United booked their progress into the last sixteen of the Champions League, topping Group A after a come-from-behind 2-1 victory against CSKA Moscow at Old Trafford.

With one eye on the crucial Manchester Derby at the weekend, José Mourinho made several changes to the side that beat Arsenal, with Sergio Romero, Daley Blind, Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford all coming into the eleven.

United started confidently and should have taken the lead early on, with Rashford hitting the post after being sent through by Romelu Lukaku, while the Belgian and Shaw also had efforts saved by CSKA keeper Igor Akinfeev in quick succession.

Despite constant United pressure, it was the Army Men who took the surprise lead just before the half-time whistle, with Vitinho shot cannoning off Alan Dzagoev, who was standing in a supposedly offside position, into the back of the net.

The Reds kept up the pressure at the start of the second half and it eventually paid off, scoring twice in the space of just over a minute to turn the match on its head, with Lukaku prodding home the equaliser after being teed up by a superb floated delivery from Paul Pogba. Rashford then drilled the winner past Akinfeev after some lovely interplay between him and Juan Mata, with Lukaku also playing his part in the build-up.

All in all, it was a dominant performance from United, which gives them some lovely momentum heading into the Derby against City on Sunday afternoon. It should be an absolute cracker.
