Manchester United continue their defence of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, when they travel down to Ashton Gate to take on Championship side Bristol City in the quarter-finals.
The Reds have had a straightforward route to this point, dispatching Championship side Burton Albion at Old Trafford and Premier League strugglers Swansea City away from home with relative ease.
Meanwhile, Lee Johnson’s men, who are flying high in the Championship this season, have been one of the teams to watch in this season’s competition, coming through Plymouth Argyle, Watford, Stoke City and Crystal Palace to earn themselves a marquee tie with United at home.
José Mourinho, who will certainly rotate his side ahead of a busy festive period, must expect his side to secure their progress to the semi-finals, but this is by no means an easy game, as the Robins will certainly be looking to make it a memorable night by causing a major cup upset.
Here’s our predicted eleven for United:
GK - Sergio Romero
The Argentinian has played in all the Carabao Cup ties so far and is expected to continue to do so.
RB - Ashley Young
José Mourinho has said that there will be a couple of changes in the side, but expect Young to start on the right to cover for Antonio Valencia’s absence.
CB - Victor Lindelof
Phil Jones and Chris Smalling have been the first-choice centre-back pairing lately, so expect Lindelöf to come in and show what he can do in this one.
CB - Axel Tuanzebe
The youngster hasn’t seen much first-team action, but having impressed in the previous Carabao Cup tie against Swansea, should get another chance to prove his worth here.
LB - Luke Shaw
Shaw’s been solid since being brought back into the fold by Mourinho and this quarter-final should give him another chance to impress.
CM - Scott McTominay
The youngster has been solid enough when called upon by Mourinho and with Nemanja Matic in need of a rest, McTominay is able enough to fill in.
CM - Paul Pogba
Returning from a three-match suspension, the Frenchman should slot right back into the side and give United an immediate boost in attack.
RM - Juan Mata
The Spaniard is in good nick and should keep his place.
CAM - Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Last chance saloon for the Armenian. Mourinho has hinted he will start at Ashton Gate and he surely has to impress if he wants his future to be at Old Trafford.
LM - Anthony Martial
In the continuing rotational train on the left flank, Martial should come in for Marcus Rashford.
ST - Romelu Lukaku
Normally, you’d rest Lukaku for this one and give Zlatan Ibrahimovic his first start since coming back from injury, but as the Belgian’s starting to find his form again, I’d wouldn’t be surprised if he starts again.
