Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is keen to sign 16-year-old striker Pietro Pellegri from Serie A side Genoa, who have placed a £36m price tag on him, according to a report from the Daily Star.
The striker is the youngest ever place to score a brace in the Italian top flight after he netted twice against Lazio.
His father, who is the assistant manger at Genoa, was pictured at the sidelines wiping away his tears as he saw his son create history.
Pellegri is highly-rated in Italy, with Inter Milan and AC Milan desperate to secure his signature.
Both clubs have failed with recent attempts to lure the striker away but Manchester United are quietly confident that the can secure his services.
The youngster has been likened to Zlatan Ibrahimovic due to his body build and height.
His agent Beppe Riso said:
He is a very powerful striker, he is similar to Ibrahimovic, he is definitely one of the best young players in Europe.
United striker Ibrahimovic is approaching the end of his career and the Red Devils need a fresh face in attack to partner Romelu Lukaku. Pellegri could be the ideal candidate to do that job.
The 16-year-old is in no rush to decide on his future and currently is concentrating on developing with Genoa.
