Back to Premier League action, Manchester United will be looking to return to winning ways after failing to reach the Carabao Cup semi-finals, losing 2-1 to an excuberant Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Wednesday.
The Red Devils will face Leicester at the King Power Stadium, and the home side will look to take the game to United and frustrate them in their chase of league leaders Manchester City. The Foxes also failed to reach the semi-finals of the cup in midweek, losing to City on penalties after drawing the match 1-1.
Leicester have turned around their form as of late under new boss Claude Puel and, save for a surprising 3-0 loss against Crystal Palace last weekend, they have looked similar to the free-flowing and energetic side that won the Premier League two years ago.
Mourinho expressed his disappointment with a number of players who he had given a chance to impress against Bristol City, and so the team is expected to be heavily changed from Wednesday night.
Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini and Eric Bailly are still unavailable through injury, while Antonio Valencia will also miss out having come off early against West Brom last weekend with a hamstring issue.
Here’s our predicted XI for United:
GK - David de Gea
The Spaniard has been hugely impressive this season and will definitely return after Sergio Romero deputised in the Carabao Cup.
RB - Ashley Young
Young has found renewed life with United this season as a dynamic full-back, and he will switch to the right to fill in for the unavailable Antonio Valencia.
CB - Phil Jones
Jones has impressed since making his comeback as a starter against Bournemouth recently, and will expect to keep his place.
CB - Chris Smalling
Smalling will also expect to return, as Mourinho has fielded the two Englishman together in recent games and will most likely continue to do so.
LB - Luke Shaw
In a toss up between Shaw and Marcos Rojo, the former Southampton man will get the nod after impressing in recent weeks, with the 22-year old beginning to put pressure on Ashley Young.
CM - Nemanja Matić
Matić starts for nothing short of a lack of options, but the Serbian has also shown the talent he possesses on multiple occasions for United this season, and will be trusted to do so again.
CM - Paul Pogba
Having returned from a three-game domestic ban against Bristol on Wednesday, Pogba will definitely go straight back into the XI, as he has shown this season how influential he can be.
RM - Juan Mata
Mata has looked sharp in recent weeks, and should keep his place ahead of other options.
LM - Anthony Martial
Both Martial and Marcus Rashford played in midweek, so either could start against the Foxes, and we’re going to go for Martial out of choice and nothing more.
CAM - Jesse Lingard
Lingard has been in fantastic form in recent weeks and should keep his spot.
ST - Romelu Lukaku
The Belgian powerhouse impressed in his cameo against the Robins on Wednesday, and Mourinho’s faith in the 24-year old will see him start.
