The Manchester Evening News are reporting that Manchester United could ditch their plans to sign a new left back, due to Luke Shaw coming back into form and fighting his way into the team.
The Red Devils have been linked with moves for Tottenham Hotspur and England’s Danny Rose, as well as established youngsters Kieran Tierney from Celtic and Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham.
It has also been well reported that Shaw’s relationship with José Mourinho has been sour and it looked like he was on his way out of Old Trafford, with a host of clubs from around Europe interested.
However, it is understood that the Portuguese manager and his backroom staff have been very impressed with Shaw’s attitude, commitment and performances on the pitch, meaning they will judge the English left back until the end of the season when they will make a final decision on his future.
Shaw made just two appearances this season until December, both in the Carabao Cup against Burton Albion and Swansea City, and he didn’t get 90 minutes in either of those games.
However, since then, he has been in the squad for the last nine games, starting six of them, including the last three Premier League games against Burnley, Southampton and Everton.
