Arsene Wenger feels for Jose Mourinho amid Man United troubles
Arsene Wenger has spoken out about the troubles at Manchester United and has offered support for José Mourinho, as per FourFourTwo.
Manchester United recently lost 2-1 at home to La Liga side Sevilla in the Champions League Round of 16, with Mourinho receiving much criticism for his tactics, as United barely attacked.
Spending nearly £150m in the summer on three players, the Old Trafford faithful expected more of a title race and further progress in the Champions League.
But this has been an underwhelming season in Salford, and Wenger, who is suffering one himself with a huge section of Arsenal fans wanting him leaving the Emirates, has offered support to his managerial rival.
The French manager said (via FourFourTwo):
I’m supportive of anyone who suffers. Your job (the media) is to get everyone to suffer. Our job is to get as few people as possible to suffer. I want English football to do well. But people at our level, they are the most demanding with themselves. And the biggest suffering we get is from our own demands with ourselves and overall, I want English football to do well, and I want every manager to be happy. It’s not possible.
So Wenger has offered support to Mourinho, and the two go head to head late next month, but both have had underwhelming seasons at their respective clubs. All that is to be seen is what happens next season with the two old enemies.
