Giggs tells Bale to remain in Spain rather than join United

Former Manchester United winger and new Wales manager Ryan Giggs has told Gareth Bale to stay in Spain and turn down a move to Old Trafford this summer.

The Express report that Giggs has urged his talisman to stay in Spain, despite concerns about his immediate future.

It’s Real Madrid – there are only a handful of clubs who have got that aura, of course you would want to stay there.

Bale has fallen out of favour under Zinedine Zidane this season, sparking claims that Chelsea and Manchester United could look to sign the player this summer.

Jose Mourinho’s side have been linked with a move for Bale, who has been a long-term target for the club in an attempt to rival Manchester City for the league title next season.

The Welshman has been prone to injuries throughout his career and it would be in Giggs’ best interest for the player to stay in Spain, rather than return to the more physical demands of the Premier League.

During his time as Wales boss, Chris Coleman often cited playing in the Spanish leagues as one of the reasons behind Bale’s improving injury record.
