Newly crowned Premier League champions Manchester City have long been linked with Fred but Mourinho will be hoping to lure the £50million rate midfielder to Old Trafford and steal him from under the clutches of their rivals.

Fred is looked after by former Arsenal player Gilberto Silva, who has previously stated that his player would be keen on a move to the Premier League.

City made moves to sign the 25-year-old in January and had looked set to land him in the summer.

It appears as though it will be a straight fight between the two Manchester clubs in the summer for Fred’s signature.
