# Daley Blind keen to repay supporters’ trust

Daley Blind may not have been at Manchester United for very long, but it hasn’t taken him long to understand and appreciate the United fans that travel throughout the country and beyond to support their beloved club.

“It’s great to see there are so many United fans at every away game. It’s difficult to describe their support. Every game they are there, whether it’s home or away.  I think I speak for the squad when I say we have to thank them for their support in every match. Things feel great,” the dutch star stated.

One would obviously imagine that ‘feeling great’ would apply to how he feels playing for the club and where he sees himself and United going in the foreseeable future, under the stewardship of fellow countryman Louis Van Gaal, rather than this past weekend’s defeat to Swansea City and the string of unconvincing team performances that have been evident in many games this season. However, the versatile Dutchman is well aware of this and is focused on repaying the United faithful, that have made him a fan favourite in his first seven months at MUFC.

“I definitely feel their trust and their faith in me and I hope I can pay them back in every game. I want to work hard and show them what I’m capable of. I’m definitely feeling good here and I want to thank the fans for that.”

Blind doesn’t shy away from the fact that he struggled to adapt to life in England and the style of play that many other foreign players have struggled with in the past twenty plus years of the Premier League. “When I played my first games here, I noticed the difference and was a little tired. The tempo is definitely much higher here.” said the Dutchman.

It is clear now though that he is a lot more comfortable, he has overcome early injury problems and has shown that he can come up with critical goals in games, which was evident in late goals at both West Brom and West Ham to salvage a point in each for the Red Devils.  Mixed in with his versatility and composure on the ball, Blind can have a big influence in United’s push for a Champions League spot and silverware in the FA Cup.
