# Is Di Maria struggling to settle in at Old Trafford?

To put it simply, Angel Di Maria, against Sunderland played possibly the most appalling 45 minutes of his career. The Argentinian was substituted at half time for Adnan Januzaj, who brought life to Manchester United and ended the game with an assist.

The former Real Madrid star has had many personal issues off the pitch, which may be causing his disarray on the pitch, however given the amount of talent and knowledge of the game he possesses, surely he himself wouldn’t use that as an excuse. In the 45 minutes he played, he was barely able to conjure up anything. Albeit, this match could just be what Angel Di Maria needed to focus more on his game and his substitution at half time by Van Gaal, was his way of reinforcing that message.

There is no doubt a player of his class will eventually turn this dreadful form around, but the million dollar question is; when?

Wayne Rooney insists that “he will figure it out; we all have to do that sometimes. You have to come to it in your own way and I am sure he will be a big player for us between now and the end of the season.” He also added that “It was one of those days that every footballer has,”

When asked to describe the performance of Angel Di Maria, “he’s a great player. You don’t lose your talent overnight. Hopefully he’ll get back to his best and start giving some great performances.”
