# Can United make it into the top four?

At the end of the day, if Louis van Gaal’s men are going to make a return to European football, it’s the points they put next to their own name that count, although a helping hand from those in and around our league position can contribute to our cause. Perhaps the best way to go about it is, to even take up a disinterested guise when it comes to our Manchester rivals, table-toppers Chelsea, in-fine-form Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham ‘Harry Kane’ Hotspurs.

Only bad can come of this as the pressure mounts on the squad’s shoulders, and after all, they’re only human aren’t they? Di Maria and Falcao have shown us as much! And the way to relieve it is not by keeping the United faithful on the edge of their seats until the 89th minute and wait for opposing keepers to slip up. That’s not a philosophy we’ve built.

It was an invaluable three points nonetheless and we might be doing our best to ignore the top four but it won’t hurt to have a peek and celebrate the outcome at St James’ park for all rivals listed above emerged victorious in their midweek fixtures. We must obey Daley Blind’s wishes though as he urges that the spoils on Wednesday were ‘important ones’ he merely ‘heard’ about the other bunch pushing for a top four finish. He went on to say ‘it’s important to watch out for ourselves. We must keep winning our games.’ (Easier said than done) ‘We look at ourselves and it doesn’t matter what other teams think about us.’

Currently 4th place in the race, and despite the Stamford Bridge natives looking out of sight, out of mind, a dip in form for City has put that second spot up for grabs so long as the lads don’t stray from the path. We can’t continue to rely upon the palms of De Gea to claw a point against teams that we dominate in possession against and carve an abundance of chances.
