# Cavani denies United transfer reports

**Edinson Cavani has denied reports that he will leave Paris Saint-Germain for Manchester United this summer.**

The Uruguayan international has insisted that he is happy with the French champions, whom he joined from Napoli for £50 million in 2013, and is planning to see out the remaining three years of his contract.

The 28-year-old is one of a number of strikers linked with a big money transfer to Old Trafford as Louis van Gaal plans to bolster his squad ahead of a title challenge in 2015/16. With Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao’s futures rumoured to be uncertain, Cavani has been made favourite to replace them at a cool £60 million.

But the 17-goal forward rubbished the reports after the 3-1 defeat to Barcelona last night. Speaking after the Champions League Quarter-Final 1st leg, Cavani told Sky Italia: “There is too much talk about my future but I will remain here. I will respect my contract and I’m only focusing on doing well for PSG”.

Cavani has already helped Paris Saint Germain lift the French Cup this season and his team are still in the running for a third consecutive league title. Despite his rebuttal, it is unlikely that the rumours will go away, meaning we haven’t heard the last of this story.
