# Depay would love to be reunited with van Gaal

**With three games left in the Dutch Eredivisie, Memphis Depay of PSV Eindhoven looks set to finish the season as top scorer. His side have already won the league, with the pacey youngster having scored 20 league goals along the way.**

It was revealed this week by PSV’s technical director Marcel Brands that United have made an inquiry about the availability and price of Depay. Manager Phillip Cocu has resigned himself to losing his prodigy in the summer, with the club willing to sell. This means it will be down to the player himself to decide where he plies his trade in the 2015/16 season.

There has been speculation that Depay could end up signing for Liverpool this summer, with the club already having been given permission to talk to the player by PSV. However, Depay has an exceptional relationship with United’s Louis van Gaal from last summer’s World Cup and many think this may be the tipping point in any deal.

Dutch legend Ronald De Boer commented on the situation, saying: “I don’t want to say which club is more suitable for him \[Depay\], but if he goes to United he knows there’s a Dutch coach there in Van Gaal… That’s an advantage”

Depay himself sparked huge speculation earlier this year when he started ‘favouriting’ United’s fans tweets to and about him – but he never kept them like that for long, undoing it after just a few hours. It is yet to be seen what will happen this summer but there is sure to be somewhat of a bidding war for the young Dutchman.
