# Radamel Falcao could remain a Red next season

**It has been revealed by Monaco that a meeting between themselves and Manchester United produced no conclusions over the future of Falcao, with United refusing to rule out a permanent deal just yet.**

The Colombian came to United at the start of the season with a fearsome goal scoring record and a reputation to match, but with just three games left of the Premier League season, Radamel has only mustered four goals in 24 appearances – including 10 starts – in the league. He failed to score in three FA Cup appearances before United were knocked out by Danny Welbeck and Arsenal at Old Trafford.

The 29-year-old suffered an injury to his Anterior Cruciate Ligament whilst playing for Monaco – possibly the injury feared most by any football player. Many players never recover from such an injury and we’re still waiting to see whether Falcao can or not.

Monaco need to sell Falcao in the summer because they simply cannot afford to keep him, and his poor form at United may have put other big clubs off – meaning a stay at Old Trafford could actually be more likely, rather than less.

It is possible that the striker’s struggle for goals has been more of an issue with tactics than it has with his own effort, with a lot of play before Christmas being based on high balls up to Falcao with his back to goal.

He has missed his fair share of decent goal scoring opportunities but more starts as opposed to five minute substitute cameos and a chance to get a run in the team with Rooney alongside him as opposed to deep in midfield may well see him find his pre-injury form.

There are many predictions that can and will be made about who will be in United’s ranks come the start of the season, but there is certainly a distinct possibility that the four strikers for 2015/16 will be the same four that have been present for this one.
