Pedro is expected to sign for Manchester United on Tuesday according to the Telegraph.
He will play his last game for Barcelona in the Super Cup 2nd leg on Monday before flying to Manchester to become Louis Van Gaal’s 6th summer signing. The Catalan club are currently 4-0 down to Athletic Bilbao and have a mountain to climb if they want to win the first trophy of a possible 6 available this season.
This transfer has dragged on for a longer time than fans will have hoped for, and rumours that the deal wasn’t going to go through emerged. Firstly, Manchester City were apparently going to sign him from under our noses as they had offered the 27 year old more money, but that never materialised. Then a few days ago The Guardian reported that the player was rethinking the move because of fears over LVG’s treatment of Spanish players, namely Victor Valdes. But on Tuesday it will finally come to an end and Pedro will be a Manchester United player. Now it is a case of what number he will wear, the no.7 he currently wears at Barcelona was taken by Memphis so will he wear the no.9 shirt, currently vacant after Radamel Falcao last season?
