NEYMAR OPEN TO JOINING UNITED

Brazil star Neymar is reportedly open to joining Manchester United according to the Guardian.

United are attempting to sign the Barcelona forward before the 1st of September but understand it is unlikely the transfer to happen before the transfer window shuts

Because of this, United have a long-term strategy to pursue him and believe the move could be much more likely next summer.

The 23-year-old Brazil International would consider joining as he is attracted by the size and history of United and the chance
to play in the Premier League according to sources close to the forward.

This would explain why executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward was in Barcelona last Monday, it was reported it was to close a deal with Pedro but is now understood he was there to continue adventurous talks about landing Neymar.

Neymar’s current contract ends in 2018 and reports are that Barcelona have begun contract renewal proceedings so his consideration of potentially joining United may be his way of trying to get as lucrative a deal as possible if he signs a new contract with the Catalans.

The United hierarchy will be well aware of this possible ploy, especially after the way Sergio Ramos used United’s interest in him to get a huge new 5 year contract from Real Madrid.

Neymar was an integral part of the Barcelona squad that won the treble last season with the young forward scoring 39 goals in 51 appearances.
