Manchester United take on Liverpool on Saturday evening in the first meeting between the two sides this season. The last fixture ended in a 2-1 victory for United at Anfield, so it’s a much anticipated game.
I teamed up with Read Liverpool editor Ben Smith to come up with an all-time Premier League combined XI for the two sides – but be warned, it’s light-hearted!
In the interests of keeping it fun and minimising arguments between colleagues, we’ve decided to have 5 players from each of United and Liverpool, and a man who played for both in there.
We all know that had it been more serious, there’d be 9, 10, 11 United players and minimal representation for…them. So just bear in mind that it’s all a bit of fun – although we have made one or two controversial omissions…
