# Rooney to miss Liverpool match?

A shocking twist in the tale could be occurring as it has been [reported by M.E.N](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/manchester-united-squad-check-lowry-10039331#ICID=sharebar_twitter), that Wayne Rooney didn’t travel to the team’s hotel ahead of United’s game against Liverpool tomorrow.

Rooney, who recently became England’s all-time top goalscorer, wasn’t seen at the Lowry tonight, the list of the players who were at the Lowry were:

Romero

De Gea

Valencia

Darmian

Smalling

McNair

Blind

Rojo

Shaw

Herrera

Carrick

Schneiderlin

Schweinsteiger

Memphis

Mata

Young

Martial

Fellaini

United face Liverpool tomorrow at Old Trafford, and as always Rooney was expected to play, however, with this sudden news, will he now line up?

In other news, [David de Gea has finally put pen to paper on a new four-year contract](https://readmanutd.com/2015/09/11/david-de-gea-extends-united-stay/) with a year to extend. This has been regarded as fantastic news with de Gea being a pivotal part in United’s fourth position last year and could potentially be a massive part in United’s success this season.
