# Navas tearful over United move

The [Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/11881761/Keylor-Navas-left-in-tears-at-the-airport-after-Manchester-United-move-fell-through.html) are reporting that Real Madrid ‘keeper Keylor Navas was left in tears following the breakdown of his potential move to Manchester United.

Navas revealed that he was left in the airport, departure lounge-bound with tears as his move to the Premier League outfit broke down. The Madrid ‘keeper was part of a deal to bring David De Gea from Manchester United to Real Madrid. However, the deal broke down and Navas was left in agony due to a paperwork mix-up in the De Gea deal.

Up until recently, the 28-year-old hadn’t spoken of the circumstances around the deal and has finally shed some light on the incident.

“(Deadline day) Was one of the worst days of my career”, the former Levante goalkeeper told Spanish radio station, Cadena Cope.

“I cried when the transfer window was closed, near my wife. I’m human and everything exploded. I was waiting in the airport even without suitcases. I was not on the plane, but I was near”, he added.

“The contract arrived but it was too late – there was no time. Then I went to home. It was complicated. I arrived at home and I started to cry,” he said.

Since the breakdown of the move, Navas has continued to be Real Madrid’s number one ‘keeper and hasn’t conceded a league goal so far, impressing many of the Madrid faithful.
