Who would have thought that world-famous rapper, producer and entrepreneur Andre Young would have a soft spot for Manchester United?
Of course, you’ll probably know him as Dr Dre – the man behind rap sensation Eminem and a crucial component of the infamous NWA.
Dr Dre has recently been in the spotlight because of the hit film, Straight Outta Compton, which chronicles the story of NWA, as well as his new album, Compton, which has been highly praised.
However, there’s something more important than both of those ventures: a picture of him holding a signed United shirt has appeared on United’s official website.
It’s come about because he got to know a lifelong United fan when they met at Wembley. Charlie Parish was filming Eminem’s tour and Dr Dre soon bonded with Parish to the point where the young film director was invited to the music giant’s 50th birthday party on a private yacht!
He arranged for the United squad to sign a shirt as a birthday present after Parish had been talking to Andre about the Red Devils.
Will we be seeing the living legend of hip-hop/rap at Old Trafford at any point this season?
