# Chicharito talks about United exit

Javier Hernandez has reflected on his exit from Manchester United in an interview with [Spanish newspaper Marca](https://www.marca.com/en/2015/09/28/en/football/international_football/1443428729.html).

The Mexican international made 103 appearances for the Reds in a five-year spell, scoring some important goals, but was mainly a fringe player under Louis van Gaal, and was loaned out to Real Madrid in the Dutchman’s first season in charge.

He returned to Old Trafford at the start of the season, and made three appearances before being sold to Bayern Leverkusen for a fee of £7.3 million in August. The transfer prompted mixed feelings from United fans, but most felt that his time with the Reds was up and Hernandez’s playing style didn’t really suit van Gaal’s philosophy.

Ahead of his current club’s clash against Barcelona in the Champions League tonight, Hernandez was asked whether changing clubs on the last day of the transfer window for two consecutive years was annoying.

Hernandez responded:

> “Everyone looks for stability in life, but life is also adapt or die. I’m very happy with the changes. Right now I have to adjust and give my all just as I have everywhere I’ve been as well as for my national team.”

The ex-United fan favourite went on to say that he was enjoying his time in Germany so far. “I’m very happy. I want to get the most out of it. I’ve signed for three years and I want to learn and enjoy it,” he said.

It would seem that Hernandez is enjoying his time at the BayArena, having hit the ground running by scoring two goals in five appearances for Bayer.
