# Can Martial make it as a United star?

Anthony Martial has had an exceptional start to his Manchester United career. The 19-year-old is already turning heads after scoring three goals in four starts for Manchester United since joining from Monaco this summer.

Martial joined United for a world record fee for a teenage player and doubts were raised over the worth that the price tag gave United. However, van Gaal was confident in his purchase and it seems to have paid off.

He made his debut as a late substitute versus Liverpool and made an instant impact, scoring a fantastic goal, showing great composure to slot past Mignolet and celebrate with the Old Trafford crowd. It was a stunning introduction to the Premier League for Martial, whose composure is that of a player past his age.

Usually when a player joins the Premier League and scores a few goals straight away you can’t look much into it. This is because their goals are usually ones where they are getting lucky or are just in the right place. However, Martial, is making the goals for himself and, his composure is something that most ‘one season wonders’ never had. You can tell how confident he is in-front of goal and he has proved that so far for Manchester United.

It is frightening to think how good he can become, and, how good he is now for United, at just 19. Think how good he will be after a few seasons at the club and more experience in the Champions League and Premier League. The new United number 9 is certainly one for the now, and for the future.

When United faced Sunderland last week, Martial showed another aspect of his game. He wasn’t able to get on the score-sheet for United, however, he was a nuisance for the Sunderland defence all game and, managed to set up Rooney for United’s second in a 3-0 win to send them top of the Premier League.

When he first joined Manchester United, boss Louis Van Gaal had said that he wouldn’t be rushed into the team and that his game time would be limited this season due to his tender age. That being said, I don’t think Van Gaal could drop him at the minute, his form has been scintillating and the Dutch manager won’t want to disrupt his fine form.

On the other hand, all of this talk may be a little premature, I mean, it has only been a few months since he joined and he certainly still has a lot to prove to Manchester United and to fans/pundits before he can truly be a star player for United.
