# Is Ronaldo hoping to retire at Old Trafford?

Manchester United legend and Real Madrid’s all-time top goalscorer has ambitions to return to England before he retires from football – meaning a return to Old Trafford could firmly be on the cards.

This information comes from TalkSPORT ([via The Telegraph](https://www.futhead.com/16/career-mode/players/?sort=potential&age=u23&group=rms)). TalkSPORT’s website has come to the conclusion that the Portuguese striker must be longing to retire with Manchester United; after talking to Jose Semedo, an ex-team-mate and close friend of Ronaldo.

Semedo, who has spent time on holiday with the mercurial forward in the past, said:

“He is very happy at Real Madrid and he loves English football, he loves English people and deep down I think he will come back to England,”

Now we know that Ronaldo is happy at Madrid, as we have been told by the man himself and by various others over the last few years – but is happy enough?

If he goes more than two games without scoring, the Spanish media are on his back and the Real Madrid fans even more so; the Stretford End faithful wouldn’t dare tarnish him so quickly.

Semedo, still talking to TalkSPORT, continued:

“He doesn’t want to finish his career without coming back to England.”

“He said he would wish Real Madrid is in England, but that is not possible so I believe he will end his career in English football.”

Manchester City and Chelsea would almost certainly be interested in – and able to afford – Ronaldo, but it’s difficult to imagine a scenario in which the current Balon d’Or holder would turn his back on Manchester United.
