# Pereira hoping for more first-team chances

Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira hopes that he can gain more playing in the upcoming weeks in Louis van Gaal’s side.

The Brazilian under-23 international scored his first goal for United against Ipswich Town back in September and has been regularly named in the Dutchman’s matchday squads, although he hasn’t had the chance to get off the bench often.

However, Pereira is determined to keep working hard and impress the manager in order to be involved in more games. He said to [MUTV](https://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2015/Nov/Andreas-pereira-hoping-for-a-chance-to-shine.aspx):

> *I think I’m progressing well and I’m working hard, as usual, every day. I’m trying to do my best and impress the manager and keep doing like I’m doing. Hopefully, I can be involved in some more games.*

United host West Brom in the Premier League tomorrow, and that sees the return of former Reds Darren Fletcher, Jonny Evans and Anders Lindegaard. Pereira is expecting a tricky game against the Baggies, and said that it would be strange to be playing against Fletcher and Evans:

> *I think they’re a very good team and I think, as well, it will be hard because there are some players that are from United, so they know how we play. It’ll be a strange feeling to play against Fletch and Jonny and not with them, but it will be nice to see them.*
