# Team News: Leicester City vs Manchester United

Louis van Gaal has no further injury problems ahead of Manchester United’s top of the table clash against Leicester City on Saturday, but Phil Jones and Ander Herrera are still unavailable.

Herrera and Jones suffered hamstring and ankle problems respectively against Watford last weekend, and both missed the goalless draw in midweek with PSV Eindhoven at Old Trafford.

van Gaal was asked on [MUTV](https://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2015/Nov/Team-news-Van-Gaal-provides-injury-update-before-Leicester-v-United.aspx) if any other players picked up injuries from the midweek game, but he didn’t provide a concrete answer, stating:

> *It’s too early to say something about that, but it was a very intense game. I cannot say too much about that.*

When asked about the status of Herrera and Jones, the Dutchman said:

> *I cannot say that also because these kind of injuries you cannot predict. I don’t think it is weeks, but I think within two weeks one of the two can come back. But I don’t know, you can never predict that because injuries are unpredictable.*

However, van Gaal will no doubt be boosted by the returns of Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Marouane Fellaini from injury against PSV. Long-term absentees Luke Shaw and Antonio Valencia will definitely play no part against Leicester while there was no update on Michael Carrick’s recovery from an ankle injury.

**UPDATE:** Jesse Lingard is a doubt for the game at the King Power Stadium after reportedly feeling tightness in his hamstring during the closing stages of the game against PSV, according to the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/man-united-midfield-injury-crisis-6910824).
