# Victor Valdes not invited to charity meal

As if training alone wasn’t bad enough, Victor Valdes was not invited to attend Manchester United’s #United4Unicef charity dinner at Old Trafford on Sunday night.

Louis van Gaal and the first team squad were all in attendance at the event, which raised a record-breaking £230,000 for the children’s charity – but the former Barcelona stopper was shunned.

Valdes’ wife, Yolanda Cardona, took particular offence to the treatment of her husband, taking to Instagram to launch a thinly-veiled attack on the Dutchman and the club.

Valdes has endured a rough time at United. With the three-time Champions League winner being omitted from the squad list, the squad photo and even the under-21 training sessions.

January can not come fast enough for the Spaniard with numerous clubs apparently vying for his signature. His most likely saviour is Newcastle United, who are without the injured Tim Krul. Victor Valdes definitely needs playing time to have any chance at making Spain’s Euro 2016 squad this summer.
