# United monitoring Fulham striker

Manchester United are keeping tabs on Fulham striker Moussa Dembélé, according to [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/10087482/manchester-united-targeting-fulham-striker-mousa-dembele).

The French striker has scored eight goals for the Championship side so far this season and has represented his national side up to Under-20 level.

Dembélé was thought to be close to signing a new contract to remain at Craven Cottage for the foreseeable future, but United’s interest may sway the young Frenchman’s mind, with the 19-year-old’s contract due to run out in the summer.

United’s attacking ranks are pretty thin at the moment, with Anthony Martial, under-fire captain Wayne Rooney and nominal midfielder Marouane Fellaini the only options for manager Louis van Gaal up front at the moment.

The Reds also had James Wilson among their ranks, but the youngster was sent out on loan to Championship front-runners Brighton and Hove Albion late last month.

Dembélé’s strong early season form has seen him picked as one of the Championship’s top players so far by Sky Sports pundit Andy Hinchcliffe, who said:

> *He’s still very young, very raw, Dembele, but he doesn’t seem to get too much wrong; there’s a real maturity to his play.*
>
> *I think with his pace, his power, his finishing on the floor and in the air, he’s playing like a mid-20s player, which is quite extraordinary. He could be a Premier League player and it will be nice to see how he develops over the course of the season.*
